Dorothy Hart Community Center is open Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm and Saturday 9 am - 12 pm.  Specific activities can be found on their online catalog. Parking located in the back of the building. Parks and Recreation administrative offices are located within the Community Center. 
 

  • Forever Young Gathering

    • Ages 50+

    • Join us each month for games, a creative craft, tasty snacks, and plenty of friendly ​conversation. It's a welcoming space to relax, laugh, and connect with others. As the saying goes, "Aging gracefully is simply living joyfully, one moment at a time." Come share some fun and community - together!

    • Third Mondays of the month 12-1:30 pm

    • Cost: $5 City resident/$6 non-City resident per session
       

  • Senior Cooking Class

    • Ages 50+

    • This program provides practical, approachable instruction for older adults to cook nutritious, flavorful meals. Classes combine discussion, demonstration, and hands‑on recipe preparation to build confidence and support healthy, enjoyable cooking at home.​

    • Wednesday 10/7 2-4:30 pm

      • Session 1 – Cooking for One or Two Learn quick, practical tips for preparing small‑portion meals with less effort and waste, plus simple hands‑on recipes.​

    • Wednesday 11/18 2-4:30 pm

      • Session 2 – Healthy Cooking for Aging Well Discover easy, nutritious cooking techniques and recipes that support wellness and healthy aging.​

    • Cost: $25 City resident/$30 non-City resident per session (Registration deadline: Friday before each session)
       

  • Seniors in Motion

    • Ages 50+

    • Join us in a fun hour of motion and laughter as we engage in movement, exercise, and games designed to boost health and vitality. All abilities are welcome to join in the fun! Chair yoga, chair dance, balance exercise, ribbon dance, drumming workout, games and so much more.​

    • Wednesdays 1-2 pm

    • Cost: $2 City resident/$3 non-City resident per session
       

  • Tea & Chat

    • Ages 50+

    • Tea is served! Come together for an informal teatime to meet new friends and chat with old ones in a safe, comfortable space. What a good time to share an engaging tale or exciting plans! We hope to see you there.

    • Second Fridays 2-3 pm

    • Cost: FREE, registration encouraged
       

  • Mah Jongg Club Open Play

    • Ages 18yrs +

    • Welcome to anyone who enjoys casual, friendly Mah Jongg games. Join us for a relaxed atmosphere that encourages learning, laughter, and connection. Players of all experience levels are invited. If you have a Mah Jongg set you’d like to bring and share, please do—it helps ensure everyone can play. Please bring current 2026 rules card in order to play.

    • Tuesdays at 2-4pm (August 25-December 15)
